C.G. Carlson-Drexler
This is the web page of Carl G. Carlson-Drexler. I am an anthropologist/archaeologist studying at the College of William & Mary, Virginia. My research interests focus on recent conflict, ethnohistory, documentary archaeology, memory/memorialization, forensic archaeology, and the application of geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial analysis to historical archaeology. I have a BA in Anthropology from Grinnell College, and an MA in Anthropology from the University of Nebraska.
It is a bit of a trick to state definitively where I'm from. I was born in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania, but emigrated to Colorado while still young. I have spent time in New Jersey, Norway, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Arkansas, and Virginia while having a home base in Houston. If pressed, I will claim Texas as home because 1) it is the place I hold most dear and 2) I can still get mail there.
Conflict in the 19th century is my main focus, but I find most aspects of conflict and peace studies, historical archaeology, history, anthropology, and other realms of social science captivating.
